Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh Benefit #1 from Surah ash-Shams ayaat 9 where Allah says, "Indeed he succeeds who purifies it. And indeed he fails who Dassaha." Imam Kathir (rahimahullah) explains that these ayaat "could mean that whoever purifies himself by obedience to Allah, then he will be successful." May Allah make me and all of you from those who are obedient to Allah ta`ala, aameen. Also, Imam Qatadah said, "He cleanses it from the lowly and despicable characteristics." We seek refuge in Allah from teaching our souls to be lowly and despicable aameen.
Benefit # 2 from Surah ash-Shams ayaat 10, where Allah says, "And indeed he fails who Dassaha." Imam Kathir tells us that it has been reported from Al-Awfi and Ali bin Abi Talhah, from Ibn Abbas that its meaning is, "to conceal it." This means, "that he makes it dull, and he disregards it by neglecting to allow it to receive guidance. He treats it in this manner until he performs acts of disobedience of Allah."
Imam Kathir finished with the statement, that these two meanings could also refer to "he is indeed successful whose soul Allah purifies, and he has failed whose soul Allah corrupts." May Allah make us from those whom He purifies aameen. | |
