Week 3 His Nursing & His Names

Thuwaibah, the female slave of Abu Lahab, who had just given birth to her son Masruh, suckled him. She also suckled Hamzah bin Abdul-Muttalib and Abu Salamah `Abdullah bin Abdul Asad al-Makhzumi.

Halimah bint Abu Dhu`aib As-Sa`diyyah also suckled him.

His Names

Jubair bin Mut`im (radi allahu anhu) narrated that the Messenger (sallaAllahu alaihi wa sallaam) said:

"I have five names:

1. I am Muhammad and Ahmad;

2. I am al-Mahi, through whom Allah will eliminate al-Kufr (disbelief and infidelity);

3. I am al-Hashr, who will be the first to be resurrected, the people being resurrected after me;

4. and I am also Al-Aqib (i.e. there will be no prophet after me)."

Abu Musa Abdullah bin Qais narrated that the Messenger of Allah (sallaAllahu alaihi wa sallaam) named himself some names that they memorized. He (sallaAllahu alaihi wa sallaam) said:

"I am Muhammad; I am Ahmad; I am al-Muqaffi (the last in succession), and I am the Prophet of repentance and the Prophet of mercy."

In another narration, the Prophet (sallaAllahu alaihi wa sallaam) said:

"And I am the Prophet of al-Malhamah." - that means "fighting" and it is authentic, it was recorded by Sahih Muslim.

Jabir (radiAllahu anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (sallaAllahu alaihi wa sallaam) said:

"I am Muhammad and Ahmad; I am al-Hashr, who will be the first to be resurrected, the people being resurrected after me; I am Al-Mahi, through whom the Almighty Allah will eliminate Al-Kufr (disbelief and infidelity). On the Day of Judgment, the banner of praise will be with me, and I will be the leader of the Messengers, and their intercessor."

In the Book of Allah, Allah named him:

"bringer of good news and warning" in al-Baqarah 2:119

"merciful and full of pity" in At-Tawbah 9:128

"a mercy to the worlds" in Al-Anbiya 21:107
